It is traditional not only to put your leavened products out of sight during Passover, but also to sell them through a Rabbi to a Non-Jew. This is done in order to fulfill the mitzvah of “not owning any chametz”.

While cleaning for Passover, store all Chametz, (leavened products) and utensils away in a box or cabinet that will remain untouched from April 19 to April 27th. Immediately after Passover you can resume use.
