Off Campus Living

Attending college in New York City offers many educational and cultural opportunities for students. Living in the city and finding off-campus housing requires patience and determination since apartment hunting can be competitive and expensive.

New York City is composed of five boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island. Housing in Manhattan is often twice as expensive as the outer boroughs or New Jersey. Your rent could be substantially lower if you are willing to travel a little farther. When looking for living accommodations, make safety a priority.

These listings are provided by private students, and individuals who are looking to share rental costs on their apartments, and are posted as a service to FIT students. Neither FIT nor the residential life staff reviews the listings for content; therefore, the college assumes no responsibility for either the accuracy of the listing or the nature or quality of the arrangements described in the listings.

Listings are updated biweekly on Tuesdays. If you have questions regarding this information or accessing the site, please contact the Off Campus Housing Representative at or (212) 217-3903.
